What is root beer float?

It is a treat made of root beer soda with scoops of ice cream in it.

How to make easy easy root beer float recipe from scratch?

  1. Pour soda– In a chilled glass.
  2. Add ice cream– Like vanilla.
  3. Top it– With whipped cream.
  4. Serve immediately– Enjoy!

What is the order in which you layer ingredients? Do you put the ice cream first?

Usually you start with soda, and then add the ice cream. If you add ice cream and then the soda, it foams up and spills over the cup, kind of like an oozing volcano. If your kids like seeing the mini science experiment like mine does, we add ice cream first.

Is root beer alcoholic?

No, it is not alcoholic. It is appropriate for all ages.

Key ingredients for root beer ice cream soda

  • Root beer– Choose 1 can of your favorite brand.
  • Ice cream– 2 scoops of vanilla is just right.

Topping options

Variations

Coat the rim of serving cup or mug with sugar, chocolate syrup ,or sprinkles– For added sweetness and to make it look even more special!

Try another ice cream flavor– Such as caramel, cherry, or butterscotch.

Add sweet syrups– Such as grenadine, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, or butterscotch.

Add extracts– Such as vanilla, almond, rum, or even maple.

Make it boozy or alcoholic– Add rum, whiskey, or even Baileys.

Try a different flavor of soda– Such as cream soda, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, orange, grape, Dr. Pepper, or whatever else you prefer.

Tips and techniques

Use a tall glass or beer mug if possible– Because this helps to contain the foam and adds to the visual appeal.

Use high quality ice cream– Because the generic brands sometimes melt very quickly and also don’t taste as creamy and delicious.

Chill your cups, if possible– It keeps the float cooler for longer. Stick the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes.

How to add syrup? Pour about 2 tbsp of soda in a cup, followed by 1 tbsp syrup. Mix it with a spoon. Then, add the remaining soda. Finally, gently add scoops of ice cream.

Storage of ice cream float

I do not recommend keeping leftovers because the root beer will become flat, and the ice cream will become watery.

Instructions

  • Optional step: Chill the glass cup in the freezer for about 5 minutes prior to assembling to keep the float cold for longer.
  • Pour your soda in the chilled glass.
  • Add scoops of vanilla ice cream.
  • Top with whipped cream, if you like. I didn't add it this time.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes
