    These are the cutest and easiest cupcakes ever. I mean look at those little chicks tucked in their creamy chocolate nest!     How To Make Easter Chick Cupcakes or Nest Cupcakes?

    1. Bake cupcakes- Cool completely.
    2. Frost cupcakes- With green frosting.
    3. Roll the sides of each cupcake- With sprinkles.
    4. Pipe a nest- With chocolate icing.
    5. Draw eyes and beaks- On yellow candy balls.
    6. Add 3 chicks- In the nest of each cupcake.

    Variations For Easter Cupcakes

    • Try other frosting flavors- Such as Cream Cheese Frosting, Maraschino Cherry Frosting, Marshmallow Frosting, or White Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.
    • Consider other cupcake flavors- Such as Rainbow Cupcakes, Yellow Cupcakes, Chocolate Chip Cupcakes, Brownie Cupcakes, Oreo Cupcakes, or Lemon Cupcakes.
    • Add flowers- Such as Fondant Pansy Flowers, Fondant Flowers, Royal Icing Flowers, or Buttercream Flowers.
    • Use blue candy balls- To make baby robin chicks like in this Pinata Cake (Robin Egg Cake).
    • Skip the sprinkles on the side- Make the whole top of the cupcake a nest instead.
    • Replace frosting nest- Instead use toasted shredded coconut or even top them with Birds Nest Cookies.
    • Fill the cupcakes- Turn these into Pinata Cupcakes.
    • Try other sprinkles- Such as jimmies, or whatever else you prefer.

    Tips And Techniques

    • Cool cupcakes completely- Because this prevents the frosting from melting and sliding right off the cupcakes when icing.
    • How to know cupcakes are done? Insert a toothpick in the center and if it comes out clean, they are ready.
    • Make a bigger batch- Just double all the ingredients and this will be perfect for a big party.
    • How to make faces on the chicks? Use an edible marker to draw eyes and a break on the yellow candies.
    • How to fill piping bag? Place the bag into a tall glass and fold edges over the glass. Fill the open bag with icing using a spoon.

    Storage Of Decorated Cupcakes

    • Refrigerate- In a sealed container for up to 3 days.
    • Room temperature- Decorated cupcakes can be stored in in a covered cardboard box, as long as there are no perishable fillings for 8-10 hours.
    • Freeze- Unfrosted/ undecorated cupcakes and frosting can be frozen separately in sealed containers for up to 1 month and thawed overnight in the fridge. Once thawed, they can be decorated, as per instructions below.
    • Make ahead instructions- These cupcakes can be baked and decorated 1 day in advance.

    Ingredients
      

    • 24 Chocolate cherry cupcakes
    • 2 cups American buttercream frosting Colored green
    • 1 cup Colorful sprinkles
    • 2 cups Chocolate buttercream frosting
    • 3 cups Yellow candy balls

    Instructions
     

    • Bake cupcakes and allow them to cool completely.
    • Use a spatula to spread green icing on top of each cupcake.
    • Roll the sides of each cupcake in a dish, filled with sprinkles.
    • Fill a piping bag with chocolate icing and attach Wilton's tip # 233.
    • Pipe a circular nest in the center of each cupcake.
    • Draw eyes and beaks on yellow candy balls, using edible markers.
    • Stick 3 chicks in the nest of each cupcake. Enjoy!
