Since Christmas will be here soon, I wanted to share these festive brownies. These are just as much fun to make as these Christmas Tree Cupcakes or these Santa Hat Brownies. They are so easy that even kids can help out! Enjoy eating them as much as assembling them.
How to make Christmas tree brownies?
- Slice brownies- Into triangles.
- Stick marshmallow fondant- On top using corn syrup or frosting.
- Decorate- With sprinkles.
- Add a tree trunk- Push a small candy cane at the base.

Variations for Christmas brownies
Make a giant tree- Instead of mini brownies, you can make a big giant brownie in the shape of a tree and decorate with fondant, icing and sprinkles.
Switch up the type of brownie- I used Nutella brownies, but you can also use my Fudgy Brownies with Crackly Tops Recipe. If you are short on time, you can even use store-bought brownies or box brownies. There is no shame in that!
Decorate with colorful icing- Instead of fondant, you can use green icing for the tree. Ombre greens would be really pretty on the brownie. You can use black icing to create a string of lights, and add colorful frosting dots for the light bulbs.
Add ornaments- Use seasonal sprinkles that look like ornaments, or add small spots of colorful sprinkles to look like ornaments. Use corn syrup or icing to "glue" these details.
Use homemade American Buttercream Frosting- Instead of corn syrup to stick everything into place, or you can use a jar of store-bought frosting to save even more time.
Tips and techniques for xmas tree brownie bites
Use store- bought fondant- This is a great alternative if you are short on time plus you can buy them pre-colored these days.
Any type of sprinkles can be used- Seasonal sprinkles or whatever you have on hand.
Don't use regular sized candy canes- Because they are too big to push into the bottom of the brownie. The mini ones work best.
How to cut brownies into triangles? Use a sharp knife to cut 3 rows on a pan of brownies. Then, cut triangle shapes in each row so that all of them are the same size. Instead of this, you can also use a triangle shaped cookie cutter.
Use the smooth bottom side of the brownie- Because this helps the fondant to attach and adhere more smoothly.
Use a sharp knife to trim the fondant- Because this ensures a clean cut for the tree outline.
Cool brownies completely before cutting- Because this allows for clean lines, and cute shapes that won't fall apart.
Storage of decorated brownies
Room temperature– Leftovers can be stored in a covered box at room temperature for 1-2 days away from heat and moisture.
Refrigerate– In a covered box for up to 3 days. Please note that moisture in the refrigerator can make fondant decorations sticky.
Freeze– This is not recommended since the fondant decorations become very sticky upon thawing.

Easy Christmas Tree Brownies (Bites)

Ingredients
- 1 pan Nutella brownies Dimensions: 9x9, Can use store-bought baked brownies
- 1 cup Green marshmallow fondant Or store-bought fondant
- ½ tablespoon Colorful sprinkles
- 12 Jumbo round or star candy For topper
- 2 tablespoon Corn syrup For sticking decorations, Can be replaced with frosting
- 12 Mini candy canes
Instructions
- Use a sharp knife to cut out brownie into triangles.
- Brush some corn syrup on top your brownie. Flip over the the brownie because the bottom is smooth.
- Roll out green fondant and place your brownie, sticky side down, onto the fondant.
- Use a knife to cut off excess fondant, along the sides.
- Break a mini candy cane into a few small pieces and stick one piece into the bottom of the triangle.
- Paint a zig-zag pattern of corn syrup on top your fondant.
- Place the brownie, sticky side down, onto a bowl of sprinkles and the sprinkles will stick to the corn syrup.
- Stick a large star or round sprinkle on top of the tree with corn syrup and enjoy!
