Quick and easy ghost cookies, homemade with simple ingredients. These sweet and salty Halloween cookies are fun to make with kids.

Halloween is one time of the year where I let my creativity run wild and come up with wacky edible crafts. So, get ready to see lots of cool and spook-tacular treats such as these Dracula Cookies and this Easy Monster Cake during the next few weeks! In the meantime, these ghost crackers are sweet and salty and crunchy and oh so good! If you are planning a Halloween party, make sure these bite sized snacks are on your menu. They are really easy to make with just store bought supplies. Kids can even put them together by themselves, which is awesome!

How To Make Easy Ghost Cookies?

  1. Pour melted chocolate– On each cracker.
  2. Top with marshmallows– On each cracker.
  3. Place the ghost candy– In the center.
  4. Add confetti sprinkles– Enjoy!

Variations For Spooky Ghost Biscuits

Ghost sugar cookies– These Easy Sugar Cookies Recipe {Soft And Chewy} and this Chocolate Sugar Cookies {Cut out} would make great bases for these ghost cookies. You can use cookie cutters to cut out circle or square shapes.

Nutter butter ghosts– Use nutter butters in place of saltine crackers for a sweeter and peanut butter packed option.

Use other store-bought cookies– Instead of saltine crackers use graham crackers, Milano cookies, or chocolate chip. Whatever you prefer.

Replace melted chocolate with frosting– Such as Brown Sugar Frosting {So Fluffy}, Easy Orange Frosting {Buttercream Frosting}, Chocolate Ganache Frosting {2 Ingredients}, or this Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting.

Add shredded coconut – For additional flavor and texture.

Use seasonal Halloween sprinkles– Can be found at most grocery stores or craft stores.

Add a layer of peanut butter– Spread a thin layer of peanut butter before adding the melted chocolate on top for a sweet, salty, and savory flavor!

Tips And Techniques

What chocolate to use? I used semisweet chocolate, but you can use dark or white, whatever you prefer.

How to melt chocolate? In a glass bowl in the microwave at 30 second intervals stirring between each heating, until fully melted.

Use colorful marshmallows– They usually have holiday themed marshmallows in most grocery stores. The colorful marshmallows would make a fun addition to these cookies.

Storage

Room temperature– In a cookie jar for 2-3 days.

Freeze– I do not recommend freezing these because the saltine crackers will become mushy upon thawing.
