Whipped cream- You can use store-bought or make this Homemade Whipped Cream
Lemon curd- Drizzle or spoon this homemade Lemon Curd on top. Lemon pairs so well with blueberries.

Sauces- Such as Homemade Caramel Sauce or Dulce De Leche.
Variations For Blueberry Cobbler Cake Mix
Blueberry pineapple dump cake- Replace half the blueberries with chunks of pineapple, or drained canned pineapples for a tropical flavor.
Mixed berry cobbler- Instead of just blueberries, use a combination of cherries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries.
Add zests- Lemon would be awesome! You could also add lime or orange zest.
Add seasonings- Such as nutmeg, allspice or cardamom for even more flavor.
Add shredded coconut- For another texture addition and a little sweetness. About ⅓ cup should be enough.
Add nuts- Such as roughly chopped pecans, walnuts, or hazelnuts.
Make individual cobblers- Layer ingredients in ramekins, for individual servings.
Tips and Techniques
Use unsalted butter– Because that prevents this treat from becoming too salty. Also, don’t replace it with oil, shortening or margarine because it does not yield good results.
Brand of cake mixes– I have used these brands of cake mixes successfully: Pillsbury, Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker.
Try other flavors of cake mixes– I use a yellow cake mix but you can also use a white cake mix, butter cake mix, lemon cake mix or even spice cake mix.
Serve it warm- This is the one time I would recommend serving a cake warm because it tastes best this way and the texture is just perfect!
Fresh blueberries vs. Frozen blueberries- I highly recommend using fresh blueberries for this recipe. Frozen blueberries will release a lot of water and may make the cake "runny" and soggy.
Spread dry cake mix evenly- Because this ensures that the top cooks evenly and that each bite has cake mix in it. Do not mix the cake mix powder with the blueberries.
What size cake pan to use? 9x13 size works best.
Thinly slice the butter evenly on top- Because this helps the cake to lightly brown on top.
How do you know dump cake is done baking? It should become golden brown on top.
Storage
Refrigerate- In a sealed container for up to 3 days.
Freeze- In a sealed container for up to 1 month.
Reheat- From thawed in the microwave or oven.

Delicious & easy. Perhaps I missed it, but the oven temperature is not listed. I baked it at 375 and it was fine.
Nicole
Would this work ok if I used white cake mix & dried blueberries? Thanks.
Abeer Rizvi
White cake mix is fine but not dried blueberries. You need the moisture and juices of fresh or frozen blueberries.
Pauline
So yummy! Made this for our family Easter meal using pantry staples of frozen blueberries and yellow cake mix, and it was really amazing!
Changed up the filling quantities a little as my baking dish was deep - used 5 cups of blueberries with 1/2 cup of brown sugar, little lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons of arrowroot to thicken the blueberry filing. Thumbs up from the whole family!
Thank you for the recipe
Andrea
I doubled the blueberries and sugar. Used half of a box of white cake mix mixed with cloves and cinnamon. Sprinkled cinnamon sugar and honey on top when it had 5 min left. I'm currently making my second one this week.

This is delicious! Some people might think it's too sweet, but I thought it was perfect!!!

I really enjoyed this cake. I took Andrea's advice and added some honey, and I also didn't use the entire cake mix, probably about 3/4 of it. I used regular granulated sugar in w/ the blueberries because I overlooked my brown sugar, and I thought it was fine. I've been reheating it and pairing it w/ some vanilla ice cream and it's perfection! I appreciated how easy this was for sure!

Delicious & perfect for the inexperienced baker. Thank you
