I am also working on a BIG Halloween roundup from some of my favorite bloggers. Stay tuned for that! :D
Anyways, let's move on today's post... ROLO CHOCOLATE MONSTERS!
The IDEA came while my my son was playing with Rolo candies.
He likes to stack individual pieces. Well, that is until he gets bored and then he just starts eating them...hehe :P
He arranged a few in an ODD way, which looked like little monsters :)
So, I did a little bit of tinkering and soon enough, I had a family of CUTE and SPRINKLY chocolate monsters!
Daddy... Mommy... and Baby!
In case you are wondering why the baby monster has ONLY 1 eye unlike his parents...
That's coz these sprinkly baby monsters grow 2 more eyes as they get older... HAHAHA! :P
At least that's the EXPLANATION I gave to my husband when he asked me...lol.
They sorta remind me of my sprinkly spider cookies from last Halloween...hehe.
Speaking of sprinkles, I adore sprinkles!
Our world should be COVERED in these colorful little beauties. Right?! ;)
Along with sprinkles and Halloween treats, I LOVEEEE corny jokes, especially this time of the year.
Here is one that I read somewhere and it made me GIGGLE...heheh :P
Making these is very easy. Even kids can help :)
To make them, you will need the following supplies:
Here are the steps:
Unwrap 2 Rolo candies.
Stack them on top of each other. Use melted chocolate to stick them together.
This will be your monster's body.
Break toothpicks in half.
Use edible colors to color them in different shades.
Make eye balls now by drawing a big black dot on colorful confetti sprinkles.
I use homemade confetti sprinkles. They are really easy to make and in any color you want! Check out my simple tutorial HERE.
Stick the eye balls on top of the toothpicks with very little melted chocolate.
Push these toothpicks on top of the Rolo body.
Brush some corn syrup all around the Rolo body.
Dip your monster in a bowl of sprinkles until he is completely covered.
For the baby monsters, just use 1 Rolo candy and 1 eyeball toothpick.
And you are done! Store them at room temperature and enjoy :D
Well, that's all for today.
Tata my lovelies :)
