I made this recipe a few years ago when my kiddo was obsessed with marshmallows. Using actual marshmallows was a pain and that's why I used fluff and it worked really well and he loved it. Keep in mind that this is not a toasted frosting, which means you cannot use a torch on it because it will melt into a sticky mess. If you like white icings, be sure to also make this yummy Almond Buttercream Frosting.

Key ingredients
- Butter- This should be unsalted and at room temperature.
- Vanilla extract- You can use other flavors of extracts too.
- Powdered sugar- Sift it if you have time to remove any lumps.
- Marshmallow fluff- Don't use a homemade version. You have to use the jar from stores.
How to make easy marshmallow frosting recipe with marshmallow fluff?
- Mix together butter and vanilla extract.
- Mix in powdered sugar.
- Mix in marshmallow fluff until creamy.
- Chill and pipe on cake/ cupcakes.

Variations and tips
- Use unsalted butter because salted butter makes the frosting very salty.
- All ingredients should be at room temperature because they will blend together smoothly.
- If the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar (¼ cup at a time) to thicken it up.
- If the frosting is too thick, add a little milk (1 teaspoon at a time) to thin it out.
- This icing is sweet and thus, it’s best paired with cake and cupcakes that are not too sweet.
- The consistency of this frosting is different and not suitable for many decorating techniques, especially the intricate ones.
- Don't replace marshmallow fluff with actual marshmallows because the result was not the same and it took longer to melt the marshmallows and then use them.
- Chilling the frosting before piping makes it easier to handle and the frosting swirls hold their shape better.
- For vegan version, use vegan fluff or cream.
- Marshmallow fluff can be replaced with marshmallow cream. Many places use those terms interchangeably.
- Vanilla extract can be replaced with any other extract of your choice.
- Use gel colors to tint the icing to any shade you like.

What cupcakes to pair with this icing?
- Cupcakes- Pipe on top of White Wedding Cupcakes, Chocolate Cherry Cupcakes, Orange Cupcakes, Vanilla Cupcakes and Coffee Cupcakes (Mocha Cupcakes).
- Cakes- Pair with Chocolate Pound Cake and Chocolate Cake Roll (Cake Mix).
- Brownies and bars- Top it off on these Nutella Brownies and these Brookies (With Brownie Mix).
- Cookies- Tastes delicious on this Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

I love marshmallow fluff frosting, but can you add like instant chocolate pudding mix to make it a chocolate fluff frosting?
Abeer Rizvi
I don't know how this recipe would need to be modified to use a pudding mix. Sorry.
