Christmas just won't be complete without this recipe. You can easily buy it at the store but when you make it at home, it tastes better and fresher plus you can get creative with flavors. It's thick, sweet, very rich and creamy with hints of vanilla and nutmeg. It almost tastes like you are drinking thin liquid custard or chilled melted ice cream. Recipe FAQs

    What is eggnog?

It's also known as milk punch or egg milk punch and served during the Christmas holidays. It's rich and creamy and typically served chilled.

    Is drinking eggnog safe?

Yes, it is safe because pasteurized eggs are used and the mixture is also cooked over the stovetop.

What booze or alcohol goes well with eggnog?

You can make many drinks and cocktails by adding some rum, whiskey, bourbon, or brandy.  Typically, use a drink with high alcohol concentration because it cuts through the sweetness and creates an overall nice balanced flavor. You can even make a fancy martini for parties.

    Storage

    • Refrigerate- In a covered bottle for up to 3 days.
    • Freeze- This is not recommended as it doesn't thaw well.
    • Make ahead- This can easily be made 1-2 days in advance.
