Quick, easy edible chocolate spiders, homemade with simple ingredients like Rolo and Twizzler candies. Fun to make for kids Halloween parties.

I have been so eager to share these spiders with all of you. I felt like Halloween wasn't getting here soon enough. In preparation, I bought tons of candies to give away. I even bought the most adorable teddy bear costume ever for my little one! While "sampling" all the candies, I came up with this cute idea. It's a great last minute treat to make with your kids on Halloween. Along the spider theme, check out these Oreo Spider Cookies {No Bake} and super fun Easy Spider Web Cupcakes.

How To Make Easy Chocolate Spiders Without Mold?

    1. Make spider legs- With small Twizzler pieces.
    2. Make the eyes- On white chocolate chips.
    3. Assemble- Squeeze a dollop of chocolate, topped with Twizzler legs, Rolo and white chocolate eyes.
    4. Let the chocolate set- And enjoy!

    Variations For Edible Halloween Spiders

Use mini pretzels- For spider legs instead of Twizzlers. You can also use mini licorice strips or pipe chocolate strips to make the legs.

Use Lindt candy balls- Instead of Rolos, or you can use chocolate truffle balls like these Healthy Chocolate Truffles.

Use store-bought eyeball candies- Instead of the white chocolate chip eyes.

Use these spiders as cupcake toppers- Add them atop these festive and spooky Easy Orange Cupcakes {With Whipped Cream} or these Best Red Velvet Cupcakes {With Cream Cheese Frosting}.

Decorate a whole spooky cake with a bunch of these stuck onto it- Top this delicious Moist Triple Chocolate Cake or this Best Vanilla Cake Recipe with these spiders on Halloween.

Draw designs on the top of the Rolo- Use red, yellow, or white melted chocolate to draw spooky black widow designs on the top.

    Tips And Techniques

Use plastic gloves when working with Rolos- Otherwise the warmth from your hand will melt the chocolate.

Prep the eyes before attaching the legs- The melted chocolate will cool pretty quickly, so have the eyes ready to go before you begin assembly.

Make legs the same size- Otherwise it will end up looking like a chocolate sun as opposed to a spider. Not exactly the spooky look we're going for!

What chocolate to use? I used semi-sweet chocolate, but you can use milk or dark if you prefer.

    Ingredients

    • 3 strips Black Twizzlers
    • ⅓ cup White chocolate chips
    • 1 cup Melted chocolate Semisweet or milk
    • 10 Rolo candies Unwrapped

    Instructions

    • Cut Twizzlers into small pieces, using scissors. Make sure they are all about the same size. These will be the spider's legs.
    • Prepare the eyes now: Draw black circles on 2 chocolate chips, using a black edible marker. Keep these aside for now.
    • Assemble 6 Twizzler pieces (as shown in the step by step collage image above) on wax paper.
    • Squeeze melted chocolate in the center of those Twizzler legs.
    • Stick a Rolo candy on top of the melted chocolate.
    • Finally, stick those 2 eyes on top of the Rolo candy with some more melted chocolate.
    • Let the chocolate set and harden and then enjoy.

    Notes

    • Read all my tips above.
    • Leftovers can be stored in a covered box at room temperature away from heat for up to 3 days.
