Quick and easy peanut butter chocolate bark recipe, homemade with simple ingredients. Sweet, salty, creamy crunchy. This no bake candy is great as a dessert or snack and makes a lovely homemade gift for Christmas holidays. No candy thermometer needed either.

I love using peanut butter in homemade desserts such as this Microwave Peanut Brittle or these Peanut Butter Eggs and this Easy Buckeyes (Peanut Butter Balls). Now, I can add this peanut butter swirled bark to that list, too. This is unlike any candy you have ever had. There is a layer of salted crackers, topped off with semisweet chocolate and swirls of honey roasted peanut butter and some sprinkles, obviously. Kiddo loves this as much as he loves my Frozen Yogurt Bark.
Key ingredients
- Melted chocolate- The higher quality you use the better the flavor and texture.
- Peanut Butter- I used Peter Pan brand, but you can try your favorite as well.
- Sprinkles- Use a your preference of colors and shapes for any occasion.
- Saltine crackers- Adds a bit of salty pairing to the sweetness.

Variations
- Replace the saltine crackers- With mini pretzels. Top it off with peanut butter, melted chocolate, sprinkles.
- Sprinkle ¼ cup toffee chips- On top before the chocolate sets.
- Add some different saltiness- The recipe below uses Saltine crackers to give this bark a little salted crunch but you can try a layer of salted potato chips too. I am obsessed with the sweet and salty flavor combination, which can you enjoy in these Chocolate Covered Potato Chips too.
- Replace the semisweet chocolate- With white chocolate for a different flavor profile.
- I like to use semisweet chocolate- Because it's not too bitter but you can also use dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
- Replace peanut butter- With other nut butters such as cashew butter, sun butter, almond butter e.t.c.
- Add bananas- Peanut butter and bananas compliment each other so well that you can add a layer of thinly sliced bananas too.

Chocolate bark add-ins
- Nuts- Such as chopped almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, peanuts, or pecans.
- Dried fruits- Such as roughly chopped dates, strawberries, cherries, apricots, raisins, mangoes, figs, or prunes.
- Freeze dried fruits- Including strawberries, pineapple, bananas, blueberries, apples, or pears.
- Pretzels- Chop them up roughly and mix in.
- Cookies- Such as roughly chopped sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, Lotus Biscoff, Oreos, or Milanos.
- Candies- Such as roughly chopped Mars bars, Reese's cups, Snickers, Twix, Kit Kats, Butterfinger, Milky Way, or Hershey's milk chocolate. Candies like Reese's Pieces and M&Ms will not need to be chopped up and can be sprinkled on top.
How to make easy peanut butter chocolate bark recipe?

1. Melt chocolate- And spread evenly on the bottom of prepared pan.

2. Lay saltine crackers- In an even layer on top of chocolate.

3. Spread another layer- Of chocolate over the crackers with a spatula.

4. Add dollops of peanut butter- Randomly on top of second chocolate layer.

5. Swirl peanut butter- Into the chocolate with a wooden skewer.

6. Toss on sprinkles- Then chill, cut pieces, and enjoy.
Tips and techniques
- You can use more or less- Chocolate based on your preference.
- If you want a big emphasis on the peanut butter flavor- Just add swirl more peanut butter.
- You can add lots of sprinkles- If you like. I only added a small amount, just enough to give this bark a pop of color.
- Line pan with parchment paper or wax paper- So that this candy doesn't stick to the pan and it makes clean up easy too.
- Portioning the bark is easy- Use your hands and just break it up into random pieces. You can also use a sharp knife for clean, uniform cuts.
- Keep in mind that some toppings go stale faster than others- For example, pretzels or cookies tend to get stale and soggy. Candy will last longer.
- Work quickly- Chocolate can easily melt and you don't want finger smudges. Also, be sure it is fully hardened before breaking into pieces.

I used Peter Pan's honey roasted peanut butter in this bark since I have been curious about trying it for a while now, especially after reading that it's "creamy with a bit of crunch." After sampling it, I quickly realized that it truly lives up to its name! Best of all, you don't have to stir it before spreading it. Yay!

Recipe FAQs
Be sure to put it in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. Also, when you are melting the chocolate, be sure not to "cook" it and destroy its smooth texture. Be sure not to add anything like oil or cream to the chocolate either.
The easiest way is to melt in the microwave in 15 seconds increments and mixing often. You can also use a double boiler.
It's very similar to regular chocolate in flavor and texture but uses inferior ingredients. However, it sets quickly and is more stable.

Storage
- Refrigerate- In a sealed container up to 2 weeks.
- Room temperature- In a sealed container for up to 1 week.
- Freeze- I don't recommend this since the saltine layer becomes soggy upon thawing and loses it's crunch.
- Make ahead- This can easily be made 1-2 days in advance.

Easy Peanut Butter Chocolate Bark (Candy)

Ingredients
- 5 cups Chocolate Semisweet, Melted
- 2-3 tablespoon Peanut butter Creamy, Melted
- 15-20 Saltine crackers E.g. Salted crackers
- 2 teaspoon Sprinkles
Instructions
- Line the cookie tray or cake pan with parchment paper.
- Pour about 2 cups of melted chocolate in the center.
- Use a spatula to spread the chocolate over the entire pan.
- Arrange a layer of salted crackers on top of the chocolate.
- Pour 3 more cups of melted chocolate in the center.
- Use a spatula to spread the chocolate completely over the crackers.
- Drop spoonfuls of melted peanut butter randomly on top of the chocolate.
- Run a wooden skewer or chopstick through the melted chocolate until you have lots of swirls and a beautiful swirled or marble effect.
- Toss some sprinkles.
- Place pan in the fridge for 20-30 minutes to allow the chocolate and peanut butter to set and harden.
- Flip the pan onto a table and remove the parchment paper and break the bark into random pieces. You can also use a knife to cut random shapes and enjoy!
Notes
- You can use more or less chocolate based on your preference. If you want a big emphasis on the peanut butter flavor, then just spread a thin layer of chocolate in each layer of your bark.
- I highly suggest wearing gloves when breaking this chocolate bark or else the chocolate will start melting due to the heat of your hands and you will end up with ugly smudges.
- You can add lots of sprinkles, if you like. I only added a small amount, just enough to give this bark a pop of color. In the video, I used white sprinkles but I have also used colorful rainbow sprinkles, as you can see in the pictures.
