How to make easy caramel fudge with caramel sauce in microwave? On stovetop?
Microwave instructions

- Pour caramel sauce- Mix until combined.
- Pour into a pan- Lined with wax paper.
- Cover and chill- Until firm.
- Cut small pieces- With a sharp knife.
Stovetop instructions

- Cover and chill- Until firm.
- Cut small pieces- With a sharp knife.
Salted caramel fudge add ins
Nuts- Such as finely chopped and toasted cashews, walnuts, pecans, or peanuts.
Mini chips- Such as dark, milk, or white chocolate, peanut butter, or butterscotch chips.
Dried fruit- Such as finely chopped cherries, cranberries, or even apricots.
Swirls– Such as warmed nut butters, marshmallow creme, or dark chocolate swirls to give a marbled look and additional flavor.
Bacon bits– For a sweet and salty flavor combination.
Mini marshmallows– Add towards the end so they don’t melt, and also remain visible in the fudge.
Shredded coconut- For added texture and sweetness.
Why is my fudge grainy, dry, crumbly?
This could be the result of a number of issues including the chocolate being burnt, incorrect ratios of ingredients, or the ingredients were not mixed or dissolved properly.
Why didn’t my fudge set?
It could be that it hasn’t chilled long enough to set. Leave it to chill in the fridge longer, ideally overnight, and check back later. Another reason could be the addition of too much caramel sauce.
How long does it take for fudge to set?
Typically, it takes about 6-8 hours overnight for the best firm structure.
Variations for 2 ingredient microwave fudge
Add extracts- Such as vanilla, bourbon, rum, or maple extracts.
Add spices– Such as cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
Make it spicy- Add a little cayenne pepper for a spicy version.
Add sprinkles- For a fun colorful addition.
Add cookies- Such as Oreos, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies, or another of your favorite cookies that are finely chopped.
Use salted caramel- Omit the sea salt if you use salted caramel.
Dip each fudge piece in melted chocolate- Use dark or semisweet chocolate for an additional flavor profile
Use a can of Dulce de leche- Instead of caramel sauce.
Add coffee–Add in a small amount of instant coffee to the mixture for even more depth of flavor and caffeine too.
Tips and technique
Sea salt is optional- Just omit it if you prefer sweet all on its own.
You must use thick caramel sauce- This Homemade Caramel Sauce can be used.
You must line pan with wax paper- Because this prevents the fudge from sticking to the pan, and allows you to cut it cleanly and neatly.
How to cut clean slices? Remove the fudge from the pan, and while chilled, use a sharp knife to cut small pieces.
The color of fudge can vary based on the color of your caramel sauce- Some are darker than others. Some unfortunately have artificial colors and that can also alter the end color.
How to package fudge? Since this is a popular item that people give to one another during the holidays, look at these Easy Food and Cookie Packaging Ideas. If you are packing them individually use plastic wrap and wax paper, and then they can be packed into beautiful gift boxes.
Don’t use a serrated knife– Because the cuts are not smooth. There are ridge marks left in the chocolate then, and it doesn’t look as beautiful.
For more precision, use a ruler– Because this allows you to mark out exact sizes for the candy resulting in uniform pieces.
Storage
Refrigerate– In a sealed container for up to 1 week.
Freeze– Double wrap and store it in an air tight container to prevent freezer burns. It can also be stored as a whole block and then sliced after being thawed.

Ingredients
- 2 bags White chocolate chips 12 oz. each
- 1 cup Thick caramel sauce If you are using Smucker's caramel ice cream topping, use only ¾ cups of that because it has a much thinner consistency
- 1 teaspoon Sea salt Optional, For sprinkling on top if you like
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, add white chocolate chips.
- Heat in microwave until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Make sure to mix with a spatula every 30 seconds to prevent the chocolate from burning.
- Pour caramel sauce and mix until combined.
- Spread mixture evenly in an 8 or 9 inch square pan, lined with wax paper. Use 8 inch pan for thicker fudge pieces. Use 9 inch pan for thinner/ flatter fudge pieces.
- Optional step: Sprinkle sea salt on top to create a salted caramel flavor, if you like.
- Cover and chill in fridge overnight to allow the mixture to set and become firm.
- Use a sharp knife to cut small pieces. Enjoy.
Notes
