One eyed monster donuts
Coat donut in melted white chocolate.
Toss some spooky sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
Use a knife to cut only a quarter way near the top of the donut and push licorice ropes in here for the hair.
Stick a large eyeball gummy candy in the center, using melted white chocolate.
Mini zombie donuts
Coat mini donuts in powdered sugar.
Add Twizzler or licorice rope hair on top of the donut by making a small cut there with a sharp knife.
Stick a big gum ball in the center with melted white chocolate for the nose.
Use a black edible marker to draw details on two m&m candies and stick them above the nose for eyes. Use melted white chocolate to secure in place.
Stick a black sprinkle below the nose for mouth, using melted chocolate again.
Bat donuts
Split open an Oreo and remove the cream. You will end up with two cookies.
Break one cookie in half and place them on a sheet of wax paper. These will be the bat wings.
Pour two big spoonfuls of melted chocolate near the bottom of the wings.
Dip donut in chocolate ganache and cover in Oreo crumbs. Place this on top of the melted chocolate.
Stick eyeball candies for eyes near the top, using melted chocolate.
Stick two candy corns for the teeth or fangs near the middle, using melted chocolate. I recommend cutting the candy corns halfway with a knife or else they are just too big.
Cat donuts
Coat donut in chocolate glaze and cover completely in Oreo crumbs.
Push two candy corns near the top of the donut for the ears.
Stick two eyeball candies with melted chocolate.
Stick edible grass candy for whiskers with melted chocolate.
Stick a orange m&m for nose in the middle with melted chocolate.
Mummy donuts
Glaze donut in white glaze or melted white chocolate or white ganache.
Fill hole in center too.
Create "strips" by drizzling melted chocolate randomly all over the donut.
Add eyes by sticking candy eyeballs near the top.
Let the chocolate set and enjoy.
Spider donuts
Drop two big spoonfuls of melted chocolate on sheet of wax paper and stick 3 chocolate pocky sticks on either sides.
Pour additional melted chocolate in the center.
Place a chocolate covered donut on top of the pocky sticks near the middle.
Cover the whole donut in Oreo crumbs.
Use melted chocolate to stick candy eyeballs.
- You can make fresh donuts for this project or use store-bought donuts. Just make sure they are plain and not glazed.
- Do not decorate warm donuts because that will cause the decorations to melt and make a sticky mess.
- If you can't find pocky sticks, you can use long pretzel rods. Dip them in melted semisweet chocolate for a similar look.
- Read additional tips and variations above.
- Leftovers can be stored in a covered box at room temperature for about 2 days. I don't recommend freezing or refrigerating because that can cause the decorations to bleed color.
