In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth. Add cocoa powder and mix until combined.
Add powdered sugar (½ cup at a time), while continuing to mix.
Continue mixing until icing is thickened and has a piping consistency.
Frost your cakes, cupcakes or other desserts and enjoy.
- If icing is too thick, mix in some milk or water until you reach desired consistency.
- If icing is too thin, mix in more powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
