Easy Apple Cobbler

The best, classic, old fashioned, easy apple cobbler recipe, homemade with simple ingredients. Loaded with cinnamon nutmeg apples, buttery crumble topping.

Ingredients

Apple mixture

Topping

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • cup Oats Quick cooking, Optional, Oats are typically added in an apple crisp and omitted in a crumble but I like to add some for added texture.
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Chopped nuts Any nuts can be used. I used a combination of pecans and walnuts
  • 2 Eggs Large
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg powder
  • ½ cup Butter Unsalted, Melted
  • ¼ cup Caramel sauce For drizzling on top, Optional

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, add apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and mix everything until combined.
  • Spread this apple mixture evenly in a rectangular baking dish (Dimensions: 13x9).
  • In another mixing bowl, add flour, oats, sugar, chopped nuts, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and and mix with a fork until you have a crumbly mixture.
  • Spread this crumby mixture evenly on top of the apples.
  • Drizzle melted butter on top of the the crumb mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-55 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and juices are bubbling on the sides.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce prior to serving. Also, add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, before serving. Enjoy!
