Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter Unsalted, Room temperature
  • 1 box Cream cheese Full fat, 8 oz. package
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest
  • 5 cups Powdered sugar
  • Yellow gel coloring

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together butter and cream cheese until smooth.

  2. Add lemon extract, lemon juice, lemon zest and mix until combined.

  3. Gradually mix in powdered sugar (1/2 cup at a time) until frosting is smooth and creamy. 

  4. Add some yellow gel coloring (quantity is based on how intense you want the yellow shade) and mix until color is evenly distributed. 

  5. Cover bowl and chill in the fridge for 20-30 minutes to make it slightly firmer, which makes easier to pipe perfect swirls. This is an optional step but I do this with most of my frostings. Enjoy!
