Bake cupcakes and allow them to cool completely.
Ice each cupcake smoothly with lemon icing.
Toss green sprinkles and keep aside.
Start off by dusting your work surface with powdered sugar. This will prevent the fondant from sticking to the surface. Now, make a small ball of yellow fondant.
Roll out white fondant.
Use a large daisy cutter to cut out a piece.
Press the toothpick gently at the middle of each petal to give it a veined pattern.
Roll out yellow fondant.
Use a small circle cutter to cut out a piece.
Press the end of a toothpick on this circle horizontally and then vertically until you have a "criss-cross" pattern within the circle.
Brush some water at the center of the daisy.
Place the yellow circle in the center and press it with your fingers until it sticks into place.
If you want a simple flower with not too many petals, you can stop here but, if you want a more full flower, keep going.
Roll out white fondant and cut out another white flower.
Brush some water in the center.
Place the prepared daisy with the yellow center on top of this one. Press it gently until everything sticks together.
If you like flat flowers (like the ones in my pictures), let them dry on a flat sheet of wax paper. If you want the petals to look more curved, place these flowers on a flower forming cup and let them dry overnight.
Place a flower on top of the each iced cupcake. Enjoy!
