Quick and easy blueberry dump cake recipe (blueberry cobbler dump cake), homemade with simple ingredients. A great Summer dessert that starts off with yellow cake mix!
If you are ever short on time and need to make a delicious dessert, this is it! You just dump everything in a cake pan and bake. It’s just as popular as my Peach Dump Cake (Peach Cobbler Dump Cake).
Tips and Techniques
- Use unsalted butter– Because this prevents these treats from becoming too salty. Also, don’t replace it with oil, shortening or margarine because it does not yield good results.
- Brand of cake mixes– I have used these brands of cake mixes successfully: Pillsbury, Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker.
- Try other flavors of cake mixes– I use a yellow cake mix but you can also use a white cake mix, butter cake mix, lemon cake mix or even spice cake mix.
- Serve it warm- This is the one time I would recommend serving a cake warm because it tastes best this way and the texture is just perfect!

Delicious & easy. Perhaps I missed it, but the oven temperature is not listed. I baked it at 375 and it was fine.
Would this work ok if I used white cake mix & dried blueberries? Thanks.
White cake mix is fine but not dried blueberries. You need the moisture and juices of fresh or frozen blueberries.
So yummy! Made this for our family Easter meal using pantry staples of frozen blueberries and yellow cake mix, and it was really amazing!
Changed up the filling quantities a little as my baking dish was deep – used 5 cups of blueberries with 1/2 cup of brown sugar, little lemon juice, and 2 teaspoons of arrowroot to thicken the blueberry filing. Thumbs up from the whole family!
Thank you for the recipe 🙂
