Back to School Apple Pops Cake

Use this tutorial to make an easy back to school apple pops cake. You don’t need any fancy supplies to make this cake and kids can help too!

I used those apple marshmallow pops from a few days ago to decorate this CUTE back to school apple pops cake.

I only used the RED apple pops but you can use the green ones, if you like.

My INITIAL plan was to make a back to school cake that ACTUALLY looked like an apple.

But whatever I tried making DID NOT really look like an apple or any other fruit that I have ever seen…lol.

So, I tossed it into the garbage and made this EASY apple pops cake instead…hehe.

You don’t even need to be a cake decorator to pull off this cake…Yay!

Plus, your kids can HELP you make this back to school apple pops cake, which is something that I always LOVE!

Here are some more DETAILS of this back to school apple pops cake…

– It’s a small pink velvet cake filled and frosted in yellow cooked flour buttercream (Ermine frosting).

– I used a spatula to give the buttercream a DIAGONAL pattern.

– And finally, I pushed three apple marshmallow pops (step by step tutorial) on top of the cake and tossed some COLORFUL sprinkles all over.

I think that next time, I will make a bigger cake and decorate it with LOTS and LOTS of red, green and yellow apple pops.

I might also make an applesauce cake instead of the pink velvet cake… that flavor just seems more fitting for this cake design.
