Another easy flower to make for your cakes , cupcakes, petit fours or whatever… DAISIES!

Here is a step-by-step guide on making fondant daisies:
Step 1:
Start off by dusting the surface you would be working on with powdered sugar. This will prevent the fondant from sticking to the surface. I have a dusting bag filled with powdered sugar handy to do this. Now, prepare a small amount of yellow colored fondant.

Step 2:
Roll out the yellow fondant and using the smallest circle cutter you have, cut out a circle.

Step 3:
Press the end of a toothpick on this circle horizontally and then vertically until you have a square pattern within the circle. Keep this circle aside until needed at the end.

Step 4:
Using a daisy cutter, cut out 2 daisies.
Note: There are so many different types of daisy cutters out there and they are all good. Some of them even have a veined pattern. I am using the ones from Wilton here.

Step 5:
Press the toothpick gently at the middle of each petal to give it a veined pattern. Do this for both daisy cut-outs.

Step 6:
Dip a painting brush in water and brush the center of one daisy.

Step 7:
Place the yellow circle on top of the daisy and press gently with your finger for it to stay in place.
Note: If you want a simple daisy with not too many petals, you can stop here and your daisy is ready. But, if you want a more "petally" daisy, keep reading....

Step 8:
Brush some water on the centre of the second daisy.

Step 9:
Finally, place the other daisy on top of this one and press gently for everything to hold in place. If you like the flat look of the daisy, let it dry on a flat surface. If you want the petals to look more curved, place this daisy on a flower forming cup and let it dry.

That's it... you are done. Follow the same steps again to make as many daisies as you need…

Have fun!
